First Universalist Church

New Energy Equity installed this 38.4 kW solar array in Minneapolis, MN to offset the electricity load of First Universalist Church’s building. The panels will produce roughly 45,312 kWh per year, enough to power 2 average Minnesota homes. Over 30 years the solar panel system will offset over 648 tons of CO2, the equivalent of adding over 1,179 acres of trees to our forests.

First Universalist Church was founded in Minneapolis over 150 years ago and has over 1,000 members. The church has an Environmental Justice Team who’s mission is to reduce the church and community’s environmental impact and engage their congregants in working collectively to connect and take action.
