Born & Built in Annapolis
New Energy Equity develops, builds, owns and operates solar projects that deliver reliable energy and lasting economic value for all. Founded and headquartered in Annapolis, we’re proud partners of Annapolis Blues FC.
What We Do
Leaving Behind a Better World
As leaders in the solar industry, we are proud to champion causes and nonprofits that strengthen our communities and help create a more prosperous future for all.
Each year, New Energy Equity contributes a portion of its profits toward community impact, based on goals set throughout the year. The Lift As We Climb Foundation then directs these funds to nonprofits dedicated to creating a better world through solar energy projects, education, and workforce training.
The foundation has raised nearly $800,000 since it began, an average of $200,000 annually.
How We Support Our Communities
Fundraising events, local volunteering and solar for nonprofits.
Charity Golf Tournament
Each year, New Energy Equity holds a charity golf tournament where the proceeds benefit either a local or industry recipient.
Previous recipients include:
- 2022 - Folds of Honor
- 2023 - Folds of Honor
- 2024 - Civic Works
- 2025 - Let’s Share the Sun Foundation
Summer Solstice Solarbration
This annual fundraiser takes place in Saint Paul, MN and benefits the Footprint Project and their mission of providing cleaner energy access to communities in crisis.
Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (“CRAB”)
In 2021, New Energy Equity partnered with CRAB, an organization providing premier sailing instruction to people with disabilities, recovering warriors, and children from underserved communities. Through the Lift As We Climb Foundation, NEE donated, engineered, installed, and manages a 25kW roof-mounted solar system that powers CRAB’s new Adaptive Boating Center—reducing its utility costs to zero for the next 25 years.
