What Is Energy Storage?
A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) captures electricity from the grid when it is plentiful — or a nearby source like a solar farm —and releases it when demand increases. Releasing that stored energy when it’s needed most helps keep energy reliable and affordable for the surrounding community.
New Energy Equity builds storage projects that support the electricity distribution grid. Projects are typically 5 MW and require a 1/2 acre or less, meaning even smaller parcels can play an important role. It’s a proven technology and a simple way to turn underused land into decades of passive income.
